Sun Belle raspberries are the fruit of intense international cooperation. Company founder Janice Honigberg discovered the Erika variety while visiting Sant’Orsola, a berry cooperative located in the Dolomite Mountains that had distributed Sun Belle’s Western Hemisphere fruit in Italy and southern Germany for many years. Upon licensing, Sant’Orsola’s breeders and agronomists made many trips to Sun Belle Mexico, where they helped perfect the growing conditions that allowed Erika to flourish. As a result, North American consumers now have year-round access to this wonderful raspberry.
